Shanghai Backpackers is a tour agency based in Shanghai, China. This platform’s purpose is to connect those clueless Indonesian travelers with the experienced tour guides that has been living in Shanghai for a long period of time.

We specialized in a very flexible private tour, we arrange and plan your trip as comfortable as requested and we also provide the best food that only locals know which you will never get from any other China tour agency.

And what makes us so special is, our tour guides are all students that have been living in Shanghai and other city in China for at least one year, so their experiences about the city is obviously undoubted. Other than that, we also won’t take you to those unnecessary jewelry/other accessories shops that spread out all over China.

GRACE OCTAVIA
Co - Founder
She first moved to Shanghai in 2015 to take her bachelor degree in business chinese. Grace has been a part of PERMIT Shanghai (an organization that unites Indonesian college students in Shanghai, China) since 2016-2018. Driven by her passion in travel and culinary, in 2016, she started being a freelance tour guide for a local Travel Agency. Grace is also very passionate about Shanghai city, then she began dreaming of having a platform to help those clueless travelers to meet with the experienced tour guides that has been living in Shanghai for a long period of time. Therefore, in 2017, she, along with Selvi, started this Travel Agency, Shanghai Backpackers.
SELVI TANDAWIJAYA
Co - Founder
In 2014, she moved to Shanghai to take her underguraduate business chinese program. In 2017, she received an Excellent Student Scholarship From East China Normal University. In 2016, she began to work as a freelance tour guide and a translator. In addition, she became a tour guide of Indonesian tourism ministry (KeMenPar) during the visit.
She founded Shanghai Backpackers to follow her passion in traveling, food, and she wants to help people to have an unforgettable experience. In purpose to provide the best experienxe with the best local cuisine, she always travels to new places, tries new local foods, and finds the hidden gems of Shanghai.

Studying her bachelor degree in ECNU, Justine has been in China for four years. She loves traveling, culinary, and adventure. Her favorite quote is "Travelling with heart, inspiring mind"!
CLIFF
Tour Guide
Cliff loves culinary and traveling. He has been in China for four years now, and currently studying in ECNU. For him, one's destination is never a place, but always a new way of seeing things.
MAGGIE
Tour Guide
Maggie has been living in Shanghai for more than two years now. She loves to design, travel, and eat good food! Her birthday is on January 23rd 1997. Her life motto is: Live your life to the fullest!
GRACIA
Tour Guide
She was born in January 23rd 1999. As a student in Jiaotong University, she also loves to travel, try new food, and go sightseeing. As she always says, "Life is beautiful when you stop and look around!"
FELIX
Tour Guide
Felix has passion for photography and traveling. He currently studies in Beihang University, and he has been in Shanghai for four years now. His favorite quote is "Be the best you can be"!
EVANY
Tour Guide
Evany is passionate about traveling. In her opinion, to travel is to live. She has been in China for three years now and cuurently studying in Donghua University. She was born on July 5th 1996.
TANIA
Tour Guide
Tania is a student in Shanghai Normal University. As of now, she has been living in China for four years. She is also very passionate about photography, shopping, and travelling! Her motto on life is work. travel. save. repeat!
MALVIN
Tour Guide
Travel as much as you can. That is Malvin's motto in life. For him who was born in May 19th 1995, traveling and culinary are his hobbies. He has been in China for 5 years now and currently studying in SUFE!

Brian has been living in Shanghai for 5 years. He is currently taking his bachelor degree in Dong Hua University. He is interested in culinary and traveling. His favorite quote is: "Life must go on"
